A new day

I wrote this haiku one morning as the sun rose over the mountains. The world was still quiet, the kind of quiet that only exists in those early hours before the day truly begins.

As the light crept in and the sun climbed higher, everything felt paused for a moment. There were no expectations yet, no demands pulling at my attention, just the warmth of the light and the sense that a new day was unfolding.

This poem captures that moment of transition, standing at the threshold between night and day. It isn’t about certainty or plans, but about presence, being fully aware of the beauty of the moment and quietly wondering what the day ahead might bring.
